One Moment: Wild and Full

There is a moment when you reach a great height that is so crisp, so serene, so in-line with all that has occurred in your past and your present to propel you, that it is completely and stirringly silent. You, alone, experience it. You, alone, get to revel in the enriching perfection. You, alone, know what you have overcome to be there.

And the reward: silence.

This silence yells to celebrate. This silence screams of deep connection. This silence shouts of fulfillment and a contentment so satisfying that you yearn to experience it continually, although it does not happen with regularity not matter how diligently you try.

I live for this moment.

It is precious.

It is unique.

It is a paradox: structured yet boundless; wild yet simple; isolated yet connected; singular yet plural.

It is fleeting.

It, alone, is pure.

It, alone, is alive.

You see, it is in this moment that all that I am and all that I have done melds into the universe. It is in this moment that I know that I am a part of something bigger and more complex than I can fathom. And it is in this moment that, in my own insignificance, I actually am so important to the full-functioning of this planet. In fact, I am so vital that to do the opposite. — to not be present or alive or aware — is simply the greatest evil to ever develop. And isn’t it interesting that live spelled backwards is evil? To that end, I ask, can it be true that evil only exists when one is not present; when one is so lost in either the past or the future that one completely misses the most important, living moments of existence? Is evil present because one is not emotionally, mentally, or spiritually present?

I do not have the answer, only the question.

And it is my aim with these writings to continually ponder the fullness of life and what that means for me and you.

If you have a full-of-life-and-silent moment that you would like to share with me and the world, please email me. I would love to hear about it!
